Shorter to compete in National
Indoor Track Championship
Three athletes and the 4 x 400’ men’s relay team will travel to Johnson City, Tenn. this weekend to compete in the NAIA Indoor Track Nationals after qualifying on Feb. 24 at the Embry-Riddle Last Chance Meet.
Nate Scott qualified for the 60 meter run with a time of 8.51 seconds, Derricus Johnson qualified for the 400 meter run with a time of 49.68 seconds, and K’Ianca Dupree qualified for the 200 meter run with a time of 24.85 seconds.
The 4 x 400’ relay team is comprised of Kevin Cone, Jeff Kelley, Derricus Johnson, Patrick Nothstine, Justin Sizemore, and Remy Charpentier.
This is the first year of the Shorter College track program. The outdoor track season will begin on March 16 at the Georgia Relays in Athens, Ga.
